For this year’s virtual Mochitsuki, the Oregon Koto-Kai will perform “Kyo-Ningyo no Yume” (Kyoto Doll’s Dream) by Masaaki Kikushiro, “Sakura Bukyoku” (Cherry Blossom Dance) by Soumei Ootsuki, and “Haru no Hi” (Spring Days) by Tadao Sawai.

About Oregon Koto-Kai

Oregon Koto-Kai is a performing ensemble founded by koto master Mitsuki Dazai. Mitsuki moved to Oregon in 2002, and in 2007, she performed with one of her students at the Asian Celebration in Eugene. This experience prompted her to develop a koto ensemble. In 2012, the group held its first concert at the Epworth United Methodist Church. Since that time, the ensemble has performed throughout Oregon and usually presents three annual concerts.
